For better or worse, fighting is a part of hockey. This clip of the hockey brawl that took place on Feb. 22 in Buffalo when the Sabres played rivals the Ottawa Senators is an example of good fighting - fighting with a purpose. During the second period, Sabre co-captain Chris Drury gets nailed by Chris Neil, and Drury leaves the game with a deep cut on his forehead, prompting several Sabres players to retaliate to what was arguably a dirty hit. The linesmen call penalties on players involved in the initial fight, which does not satisfy Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff and his players. Immediately after play is resumed, so does the fight - including a rare (and beautiful!) goalie fight as well as a vicious war of words between Ruff and Sens coach Bryan Murray.
This clip is a little lengthy - the fight ends around the five minute mark with the remaining minutes devoted to the linesmen deciding what to do. Eventually, the Senators would lose to the Sabres 5 to 6 with a final shootout goal scored by Drew Stafford. Goals were also scored for Buffalo by the injured Drury, two by Thomas Vanek, Clarke Macarthur, and Dmitri Kalinin. Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatley (2), Jason Spezza, and Mike Fisher scored for Ottawa.

This is the best hockey fight I've ever seen! Lindy Ruff needs to chill out!
